For the fourth winter in a row, the high cost of energy is leaving many of us cold. So let's join with others in our communities to keep warm and call for lasting change.
‘Warm this Winter Wednesdays’ is a call to come together with others in your community, keep each other company in a warm space, while also discussing how to take action on the energy crisis in your local area. Whether family, friends, neighbours, or people you’ve not met before, WTW Wednesdays is for everyone. And while we’re hoping people will coordinate meetings/events on the same day each week to highlight the range of action happening across the UK, they can be any day of the week!
We’re calling on you to come together with those in your community and organise coffee mornings, meetings, and events in villages, towns and cities up and down the UK. These events will bring people together for mutual support and be a place to share ideas for how we can tackle the energy crisis together. By displaying community solidarity and power, we can show we are not alone in this, we have the solutions to the energy crisis, and they need to be implemented now to tackle fuel poverty and the climate crisis together.
Many of us are really worried about getting through this winter, especially given the recent cut to winter fuel payments for pensioners, and feeling the strain of several years of eye-wateringly high bills. We want to create spaces where people can feel less alone over the winter months, while also feeling empowered to take action. It’s a chance to come together, strengthen community bonds, and show support for lasting change.

However you want to shape your Warm This Winter Wednesday activities, we have lots of campaign materials that you can download and print to help make it a success.
Flyers
Our Warm This Winter flyers are a simple way to spread the word and introduce the campaign. You could use these to help promote your event, share with anyone who comes along, or give out in your local community together.
Story-sharing cards
These cards are a great way to encourage people to share their stories, hopes, fears, or demands, by writing them down in the blank space inside the hot water bottle shape. You could take photos with them, bring them to your local MP, or display them somewhere!
Placards
You can use these to take a photo with your group, or perhaps a local politician, or to put up around your event to make it easier for people who want to join to spot you.
Cross-stitch pattern
If you want to get crafty in your group, you can download or print this cross-stitch pattern to work on together as another way to make our demands heard. You can share photos of your creations on social media with the hashtag #WarmThisWinter, and maybe even gift your finished cross-stitch to your MP!
